Needles and Goldie are really getting big now. Wish I could go to the fledge party, planned for June 15th at Janet Zuelke's eagle viewing platform. Here's a couple of pics of the young beauties. They're just posing for me in the first one. Needles fledged on June 14th, soaring out like he meant to go forever. No video was recorded. Goldie remained on the nest, alternately going to the edge and shrinking back against the canyon wall. Rumors abound that she appeared unbalanced and fearful. Regardless, on June 18th the decision was made for her, as you can see in this video. As of today, there has been no sighting of Goldie. There are numerous reports of Needles flying with a parent.
