After a lot of trouble at New Forest, the Goshawk cam is live again. The quality is not so good and I hear a lot of noise that the chatters have described as a constant helicopter sound. They had a beautiful HD cam on a Buzzard nest that I was looking forward to watching except the Buzzards decided not to use the nest! LOL Same thing happened to them with the Goshawks but somehow they have managed to put this cam up even after the female laid her eggs! Bravo to New Forest!

This Goshawk nest is now live after much effort. This is not an HD camera, so will not be the same sort of quality we managed from the unoccupied Buzzard nest. But we hope the action on the nest makes up for the reduced quality of the video.

This is frustrating for all of us and we have been very lucky over the last 9 years. However, we are working hard on the possible alternatives and making plans. Keeping in mind that the welfare of the birds is paramount. So we hope to have some encouraging news over the next 5 days.

Apologies to everyone about the lack of news. We are able to confirm after much time spent monitoring the nest area, that the female is laying eggs in a different nest. This is a nest with no camera!

The new season has now started! Date with Nature 2015 will be open everyday until 6 September at the Reptile Centre, 10am to 4.30pm.

Looking forward to see the action unfold on both the goshawk nest and common buzzard nest this season!

We have cameras on two nests this year. A Goshawk and a Common Buzzard. The Goshawk camera is live, but may not be properly streaming on the internet for a few days. We are hoping that a Common Buzzard will nest in front of our camera, but will not know for certain for another week or so.
