And here she is.... Snoozing in the Snow

I got to see a fast snack drop off from dad and I was so shocked to see him in the daylight I barely had time to get my snippy tool ready! I also got a glimpse of the eggs. There are 4 eggs by my count. I wonder when she laid them?

Here's good ole Dad delivering a rat. He has more white on his face than Mom does.

"They" say - whoever "they" are, that birds don't have expressions. I'll respectfully disagree. This Great Gray has some of the best ones ever! LOL!

What did we expect of a Mother Great Grey Owl? She is awesomely fierce, and yet she is a tender, gentle mother. Her nest must be filled with hatchlings by now, although I have only seen two at a time. When mother owl feeds her babies, she sings sweetly to them, a mixture of a hooo and a cooo and a purrr -- you know, an owl lullaby.

Mother owl obliged me with a brief bio break at dusk, leaving her snowy puddle of nestlings alone, wiggling about in the nest. I counted.... well, more than two.

Polo made this vid showing 3 owlets now and 1 egg.

Yes indeedy there are AT LEAST three....
