We haven't paid much attention to this nest yet, because Mama Owl is so well hidden and the owlets are deep in the nest. However, now the owlets are getting big enough to come outside. One is large enough to climb up on the edge of the nest and perch there gular-fluttering in the heat. (He should be glad he is in Montana, not in Texas!)
You can't tell much from this pic, but the cam is fun to watch, as the owlets move about. Yes, that is an owlet on the side of the nest to Mama's left. There are three owlets now, and more may make an appearance before long.

Mama Owl has 3 Owlets cop
Mama LEO may look like a GHO with long ear tufts, but her owlets do not look like baby GHO's!! Their whole face is elongated, starting with baby ear tufts and a beak that looks comically like a huge nose. Cute like any little owlet though.
