Beautiful defensive posture displayed in this video. I wonder why the owlets do this? Do they do it to discourage their siblings from going after a meal delivery they want to get or do they not recognize their parent right away? Or maybe they're afraid of the actual prey they see their parent bringing in? Odd but pretty to see.
This is a long video so I've just skimmed through it but it has some beautiful closeups of the owlet and Heinzl. I love seeing the runt handle the feather with expert dexterity around the 6:00 mark in the video. Those owls have the most gorgeous eyes! They are really showing up in this video on the runt at about 13:00 and Heinzl gets a closeup around 21:00. Beautiful!
Awwww.... Look at how cute they are!! I love the 'bob, duck, tip, bob' move. Did you ever watch a butterfly fly?? The way these owlettes watched the others fly, you'd think they were flying like a butterfly.

Oh, there they go....finally. I wonder how long it will take the little one??? The looks on their faces are really, just Priceless.They have been so entertaining. Wish I spoke Owlish so I could figure out what they were saying to each other. Thanks for posting these videos
Great closeup view of this owlet very early this morning! Love it! The last video shows a parent delivering a rat so we know the adults must still be taking care of their babies!
