Great pics of sub-adult today Patti. I took a bunch of snippys at work, but got so busy I never got to post them. I too think the tracking device on D1 has taught us so much about the return of juvies to their nest area each year and believe this is one of R & J's clutch a few years back. I have learned so much more since our "Decorah days" thanks to all the raptor lovers at RC. I couldnt have found a better place to settle my old bones in.

Spending the night at the nest tree..... eggs soon????
"QQQ" All our postings and vids are of the sub-adult joining the male, Romeo who is fairly tolerant of the situation. Wonder if the female, Juliet would be as tolerant? Has anyone seen the sub-adult with the female?
BOTH IN NEST THIS AM ... ROMEO ON THE RIGHT - JULIET LEFT. ROMEO WENT UP TOP ON BRANCH.

So far I have only seen the sub-adult with Romeo. But Juliet may be just out of camera reach. It's still all a mystery.

If it's not today it's got to be soon! It's going to be so much fun watching this nest because of the great cams and zooms. It's been a long time since I really watched an eagle nest from start to finish. I'm looking forward to doing that with this one. I just wish they'd hurry up.

THEY'RE STILL HAVIN' FUN PATTI, WHILE THEY CAN! EGGS WILL COME WHEN READY, I GUESS! CHECK OUT THIS VID FROM TODAY.
JUST SOMETHIN' TO PONDER ... THE FEMALE MUST TRUST THE MALE 100%, OTHERWISE HE COULD KILL HER WITH HIS TALONS. IT'S THE SAME AS THE EAGLES DO WITH THEIR CHICKS ...THEY ARE SOOO GENTLE AND CURL THEIR TALONS UNDER.

Juliet laid her first egg 11/14 1:42pm EST after much turning and restless rearranging on the nest. She squatted, shifted position a few times, was shaking and then became stationary for a bit before moving away from the egg to look at it. Our first view was at 1:44pm.
