Making a chicken disappear! Here's a glimpse into the ICU at SOAR with an image we always hope to see -- a recovering patient eating on their own with gusto. This eagle was admitted on 23 Feb 2014 with a blood lead level of greater than 65 micrograms per deciliter which indicates lead poisoning. Most times these birds do not recover. Her second blood lead level taken 5 March 2014 had dropped to 28.5 micrograms per deciliter. She's not out of the woods yet, but both these are encouraging signs.

The Obama administration has opened up a new front in its war on America’s eagles. For years, the president has relied on wind turbines to orchestrate his eco-genocide. Biologists estimate that wind farms kill as many as 328,000 birds each year by chopping them out of the sky. The administration’s successful weaponization of solar farms will only accelerate the death rate.

Studies indicate that the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System in California has proved to be an especially efficient apparatus for eagle extermination. The facility, which was financed in part by a $1.6 billion taxpayer-backed loan from the Department of Energy, has been incinerating innocent birds with heat lasers created by its massive array of 350,000 garage door-sized mirrors.

Eagle targeting family pets along Willamette River


LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- Swooping low over the Willamette River near Lake Oswego, chasing a pair of ducks in flight, a hunting bald eagle is an impressive sight.

But Tricia Glad's experience with the bird lately has been more frightening than awe-inspiring.

“We've lived here for 14-years,” said Glad, “and have never had something attack our animals, let alone try to attack our kids.”

The family's dog isn't phased by the fuss, but their outdoor cat hasn't been the same since the eagle left a claw mark on its cheek.

Then there's the family's ducks, Splish and Splash.

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – There’s a new flap over eagle nests at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. The group Eagle On Alliance alleges a federal agency withheld information from the public that shows it agrees with many of its claims.

Carol Senechal, the group’s founder, referred to a document from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, where its says “removing the nest won’t solve the problem.” The information is just coming out, she claims, after the group’s attorneys apparently challenged the agency.

It’s a stance Eagle On Alliance has long maintained.

That was a very good article. If I'd read it the 1st nest watching season, I would have been shocked.....because, we were being told by the "experts in chat" that eagles mate for life and I believed it all. Now we have our own proof from watching all the nests, the drama, affairs (Larry who broke Lucy's heart!) etc. We've learned so much.....right along with the real experts! I am disappointed to learn about the GHO's being fond of beheading.....and wasn't Betty so lucky it was only a very loving Barney after her and not a GHO.

"After a three year struggle to save baby bald eagles from a tick infested nest, biologists got the green light to tear down the old nest and build the birds a new one. This is ridiculous.... We may need to send some emails to complain. Be on the lookout for more on this decision.
